Description

This recipe delivers incredibly juicy and tender chicken breast with a delightfully crunchy exterior, thanks to air frying and a sweet and spicy glaze. It’s a quick, easy, and healthy weeknight meal.


Ingredients

  • 400g (14oz) boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 60g (ยฝ cup) all-purpose flour
  • 5g (1 tsp) salt
  • 3g (ยฝ tsp) black pepper
  • 2g (ยฝ tsp) garlic powder
  • 1 large egg
  • 120g (1 cup) panko breadcrumbs
  • 5ml (1 tsp) vegetable oil or spray
  • 30ml (2 tbsp) gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 30ml (2 tbsp) honey
  • 15ml (1 tbsp) rice vinegar
  • 5ml (1 tsp) sesame oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2g (ยฝ tsp) fresh ginger, grated
  • 9g (1 tbsp) toasted sesame seeds
  • 6g (2 tbsp) scallions, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Prep Chicken: Pat chicken dry and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Set Breading: Arrange flour, egg, and panko in separate dishes.
  3. Coat Chicken: Dredge in flour, dip in egg, then press into panko.
  4. Oil & Air Fry: Spray with oil and air fry at 200ยฐC (390ยฐF) for 10 minutes.
  5. Flip & Finish: Flip, spray again, and cook for 8-10 minutes until cooked through.
  6. Make Glaze: Simmer gochujang, honey, vinegar, oil, garlic, and ginger.
  7. Glaze & Rest: Brush with glaze during the last 2 minutes of cooking, then rest.
  8. Garnish & Serve: Drizzle with glaze and garnish with sesame seeds and scallions.

For maximum crispiness, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket and use a light coating of oil.
