- 30ml (2 tbsp) olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 5g (1 tsp) salt
- 5g (1 tsp) sugar
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tbsp melted butter
- 300g (10 oz) halal-certified beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 30ml (2 tbsp) vegetable oil
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ยฝ tsp ground black pepper
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 150g (5 ยผ oz) halal-certified provolone cheese, shredded
- 50g (1 ยพ oz) halal-certified cheddar cheese, shredded (optional)
- 100g (3ยฝ oz) softened cream cheese
- 100g (3ยฝ oz) shredded provolone cheese
- 1 tbsp chipotle powder
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 1 tsp honey (optional)
- 2 tbsp finely chopped fresh chives
Instructions
- Prepare Dough: Combine flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and oregano. Add water, oil, and garlic; knead for 8-10 minutes.
- First Rise: Cover and let rise for 1 hour, or until doubled.
- Sautรฉ Vegetables: Sautรฉ onion and bell peppers in oil until softened (about 5 minutes).
- Cook Beef: Add beef to vegetables; season with paprika, pepper, and salt. Cook until browned (about 4 minutes). Cool.
- Make Cheese Swirl: Combine cream cheese, provolone, chipotle powder, lime juice, and honey. Mix well.
- Roll Out Dough: Punch down dough and roll into a 30×20 cm (12×8 in) rectangle.
- Layer Ingredients: Spread cheese swirl, then beef mixture, and top with provolone and cheddar.
- Form Loaf: Roll tightly, seal seams, and place seam-down on parchment.
- Bake: Brush with butter and bake at 190ยฐC (375ยฐF) for 25-30 minutes, until golden.
- Rest & Finish: Let rest for 10 minutes. Slice, drizzle with swirl, and garnish with chives.
