carrot juice recipe With Ginger-Turmeric Glow
- Total Time: 12 minutes
- Yield: 1 serving 1x
- Diet: Vegan, Gluten-Free
Description
This vibrant orange-gold elixir, a carrot juice with ginger and turmeric, offers a dependable daily health upgrade providing natural energy and vitality, perfect for a quick, nutritious, and flexible option.
Ingredients
- 5–6 medium carrots, about 1 lb (450 g)
- 1-inch piece (2.5 cm) fresh ginger (or 0.5 tsp ground ginger)
- 1-inch piece fresh turmeric (or 0.5 tsp ground turmeric), for anti-inflammatory benefits and vibrant color
- 0.5 lemon, juiced
- 0.5 cup (120 ml) water, optional (for blending, to achieve desired consistency)
- Pinch of black pepper, optional (crucial for enhancing turmeric absorption)
Instructions
- Prep Your Produce: Wash carrots, ginger, and turmeric thoroughly. Peel ginger and turmeric if not organic, and trim carrot ends.
- Juicer Method: Feed prepared carrots, ginger, and turmeric into your juicer. Pour extracted liquid into a glass. Stir in fresh lemon juice and optional black pepper.
- Blender Method: Roughly chop carrots, ginger, and turmeric. Blend with 0.5 cup (120 ml) water until completely smooth (about 1-2 minutes). If too thick, add 1-2 tablespoons more water. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or nut milk bag, pressing firmly to extract all liquid. Stir in lemon juice and optional black pepper.
Notes
Opt for organic carrots, fresh ginger, and fresh turmeric root for purest flavors and maximum nutritional punch. For a low-carb variant, blend in celery stalks or cucumber. Add spinach or kale for extra greens. For more sweetness, swap some carrots for a small apple. Boost bland flavors with extra ginger or lemon, or add a dash of cayenne pepper for a kick.
