- 1 tsp orange zest (divided)
- 120 g (1 cup) powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp fresh orange juice
- 0.5 tsp orange zest (for glaze)
- 15 g (2 tbsp) toasted almond slivers, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat & Prep: Preheat oven to 175ยฐC (350ยฐF) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream Butter & Sugar: Cream softened butter and sugar for 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Incorporate Wet Ingredients: Add egg, vanilla, 0.5 tsp orange zest, and salt; beat until combined.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: Gently fold in sifted flour and cardamom until just combined.
- Pipe the Cookies: Pipe 4-inch swirls onto baking sheets, leaving space between cookies.
- Bake to Golden Perfection: Bake for 10-12 minutes, rotating halfway through.
- Prepare the Glaze: Whisk powdered sugar, melted butter, orange juice, remaining zest, and cardamom until smooth.
- Glaze & Garnish: Drizzle warm cookies with glaze and sprinkle with toasted almonds.
- Set & Serve: Let glaze set for 15 minutes before serving.
